ELLICOTT CITY, MD—May 13, 2024— Blackpoint Cyber, the Active Cybersecurity™ leader, announced today that CRN®, a brand of The Channel Company, has named MacKenzie Brown, vice president of the Adversary Pursuit Group, and Catherine Garrett, senior director of community marketing, to the Women of the Channel list for 2024.

Every year, CRN highlights women from vendor, distributor, and solution provider organizations whose vision and leadership have a beneficial influence on the technology industry. The CRN 2024 Women of the Channel honorees are creative, strategic leaders who show ongoing commitment to using their skills to innovate and drive success for their partners and customers.

With this recognition, CRN honors these women leaders for their unwavering dedication and commitment to furthering channel excellence.

“Building a strong foundation is key to any skyscraper. Without a doubt, in this ever-evolving world of cyber and technology, that foundation has been my commitment to relentless learning, with both grit and grace. As a woman in this field, I’ve had to navigate a landscape where I found myself immediately entering a room and trying to identify those like me, and with the diversity of these industries, while it has improved, hasn’t made that habit one that reflects a feeling of ease,” said MacKenzie, a CRN 2024 Channel Chief and the host of Blackpoint’s podcast, Return of the Mac.

At Blackpoint, we recognize the critical role that women play in driving innovation and excellence across our industry. Presently, one-third of our staff are women, and the team is actively working to increase this percentage in order to foster an increasingly inclusive environment where diverse talents thrive. We continually support and promote women’s leadership and career development as integral to our success and to the cybersecurity community at large, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of defending against evolving cyberthreats.

“As someone not in a technical role, it’s always surprising and humbling to find myself listed among such accomplished and influential women. This recognition serves as a reminder of how far I have come since entering the channel space in 2016, highlighting both the progress made and the vast opportunities that still await. Witnessing the evolution of this space from mere ‘booth babes’ to highly recognized bad ass professionals is truly gratifying, and I’m grateful to contribute to this positive transformation. Being recognized as a woman of the channel for the third consecutive year is an honor. While my career has evolved significantly over these years, my dedication to the MSP space remains unwavering. I look forward to influencing the community standards at Blackpoint and building a platform to enable growth of the MSP channel,” said Catherine.

“It is a great privilege to honor the remarkable achievements of these women leaders in the IT channel,” said Jennifer Follett, VP, U.S. Content and Executive Editor, CRN at The Channel Company. “Each woman on the list has demonstrated a deep commitment to innovation and leadership that advances their organizations and drives transformation and success across the IT channel.”

“Being a woman in these fields isn’t and shouldn’t be a solitary pursuit. Through advocates, allies, mentors, and those that see the true potential rather than measure by only a statistical corporate need, we can uplift more women in this field. My growth isn’t just about reaching the top floor of my own career, it’s about using the knowledge I gain to build a support system and a network of strong female minds working together,” said MacKenzie.

The 2024 Women of the Channel list will be featured in the June issue of CRN Magazine, with online coverage starting May 13 at www.CRN.com/WOTC.
